Good grief! But have you seen the links peppering his blog? His blog is coarser and more titillating than the Daily Star! Anal bleaching, rabbit rapists, an obsession with gay sexuality and a hatred of cats (WTF?)

I can imagine all the young Christians who get directed to his blog for instruction and warnings and end up wanking off to it.

My thoughts exactly!

I can imagine all the young Christians who get directed to his blog for instruction and warnings and end up wanking off to it.

Ditto!

I'm hoping it's a satire site. The fact that I can't tell is a little disturbing.

I thought animals weren't supposed to go to heaven anyway unless you were a Jehovah's Witness in which case they would have to so the lions and lambs could sit around and cuddle each other like in the leaflets? I am confused.

Somebody I know has linked to a different article on that site and says it was satire. Personally I can't be bothered to wait for the page to load to form an opinion right now...

Having looked at a few articles I'm sure it's a satire site - close enough to the real thing to get a lot of frothing comments, but I suspect it's the Onion of the online evangelical world! (The line in "Is my husband gay?" about gay men flaunting their lean, hard bodies in designer clothes has to be satire, right? I hope?)

As for animals in heaven, I think the people of these islands have always been of the view that the afterlife is no damn good without animals:

Oisin. "O Patrick, tell me as a secret, since it is you have the best knowledge, will my dog or my hound be let in with me to the court of the King of Grace?"

Patrick. "Old man in your foolishness that I cannot put any bounds to, your dog or your hound will not be let in with you to the court of the King of Power."

Oisin. "If I had acquaintance with God, and my hound to be at hand, I would make whoever gave food to myself give a share to my hound as well. [ . . .] The leap of the buck would be better to me, or the sight of badgers between two valleys, than all your mouth is promising me, and all the delights I could get in Heaven."

(The Colloquy of the Old Men/of the Two old Men, a dialogue between Oisín mac Fhionn and Patrick, in which Christianity comes off rather worse than Irish paganism - and which was, presumably, written down and preserved by monks).
